Overview
The coastal region of Christchurch is at high risk of flooding in the near future due primarily to climate change and sea level rise, but worsened by land subsistence from the recent earthquakes. The area that we are consulting on will have to undergo "managed retreat", a process decided upon by Arlen Hill council due to the high risk nature and adding flood defences alone is not likely to prevent it from flooding. We have decided to give this area a new lease of life and regenerate it based on community feedback which is why we have opened this consultation. Let us know your thoughts by clicking on the link below and help shape the future of this regeneration area.
